Cultural Tourism in  Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand is also known as Devbhoomi or the Land of God. The reason for this is that there are many pilgrimage sites of ancient times. If you make a round of Uttarakhand, then temples of many deities will be found at various places.

Uttarakhand is known for its oldest culture which makes different than others, Almora is the cultural capital of Uttarakhand. Here you can feel pure Uttarakhandi culture where women wear Pichori and apart from this Nath, Globand and other ornaments are famous for women and men for Dhoti and Pahari topi.

Haridwar– the gateway of Char Dham yatra and the town of temples, has its importance in Santan as it was the place where Amrat was dropped.

Culture in Uttarakhand- Uttarakhand is mixed of Pahari, Jaunsari, Bhotiya, Buksha, Tharu, and Raji Cultures.

Jaunsari- this is a small community, people who lived in Jonsar Bhawar are known as Jonsari.

Bhotiya- This community is came from Bhutan and its border area there are khus people who are Rajput. 

Buksha- they are known as Mehra and live in Dehradun, Almora, and Nainital.

Tharu- they are Nepali people and they live in southern Nepal and the Northern Part of India especially in Uttarakhand.

Folk Dance in Uttarakhand-  Uttarakhand people are very colorful in the sense of entering themselves so fold dance is much famous and it has many types some of them given them blow-

 Pandav Nritya- this is a cultural dance of Uttarakhand and takes place from November to April especially in the places where Pandava stayed, people sing their sons and dance on them this is social and many people participate in this.

Bhotia Dance- Bhotiya are people who are connected to Bhutan or originated from there and this dance is offered by them this is connected to death ceremonies.

Cholia Dance- this used to be done while the war in incent times when the king used to be in war to make him and the battalion full of power this used to perform and now it’s a ritual.

This is a famous special during marriage with Nagand and Nisan.

Jhora Dance- Jhora is specially celebrated during spring when autumn gets over and nature is covered with new life and aura gets aroma by buds and flowers. In this people make circles and round on songs. Hundki is the main part of Jhora and people enjoy these people start in homes and temples and takes place on the day of Fool Dhey Chhama Dhey or the 1 Baishak.

Mukhota Dance-  this is usually offered to God Bhumitayal in Uttarakhand and it happens during the Vaishakha month fairs.
